Position Summary
SUMMARY:
This position exists in order to architect, implement, support, and troubleshoot server systems, databases, and associated applications in both an on-prem and cloud infrastructure environment. Architect and implement network architectures as well as system hardening standards. Conduct research, analysis, problem solving, and infrastructure planning. Monitor system security and protect against unauthorized access, modification or destruction.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Responsible for designing, installing and configuring servers, network devices, and firewalls in both an on-prem and cloud infrastructure environment.
· Troubleshoot, maintain, and upgrade server, network, application, database, and network security systems both internally and in coordination with external resources.
· Provide solutions to complex hardware/software problems.
· Design, configure, deploy, and support key information system infrastructure components, including Exchange, Active Directory, Azure/M365, VOIP telecommunications, and monitoring systems.
· Ensure high availability of enterprise voice and data platforms that support internal employee business functions and external customer contact.
· Communicate issues with these platforms promptly and effectively with stakeholders.
· Create and maintain documentation of server, application and network configurations.
· Develop designs, research, compare, and recommend products or services, assist in development of life-cycle oriented processes and procedures, develop and implement test plans, develop migration plans, cross-train technical staff and oversee implementation.
· Serve as an escalation point and subject matter expert for other technical departments.
· Provide excellent internal customer service.
· Serve as one of the primary points of contact for telecommunication carriers or system vendors and coordinate circuit/system design, provisioning, installation and troubleshooting.
· Read and interpret all pertinent industry material to remain current on new and emerging technologies and make recommendations accordingly.
· Ensure a stable performance environment for enterprise computer applications in a 24/7, 365 environment.
· Adopt and meet all assigned performance management goals and objectives.
Education & Experience
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor’s Degree or the Equivalent in Experience in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Networking or similar curriculum. Preferred
· Seven (7) years of combined education and/or experience in infrastructure support. Required
· Experience using network Security assessment tools and techniques. Preferred
· Scripting experience in common languages. Preferred
· In-depth experience in configuration of Network Operating Systems, architecture and protocols. Preferred
· In-depth experience in planning, configuration and support of Microsoft Exchange, Azure/M365, Active Directory, including Group policy. Preferred
· In-depth experience supporting Windows/Linux physical and virtual servers and enterprise applications. Preferred
