Position Summary
SUMMARY:
As we expand into new markets, we’re looking for a relationship-driven Commercial Loan Officer in the Janesville/Beloit area to join us in helping local businesses grow, strengthening community connections, and building a thriving portfolio of satisfied customers. RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Proactively prospect new business relationships across all areas of the bank through referrals, networking, outreach efforts, and other strategic sources.
· Develop, manage, and service a profitable commercial loan portfolio while maintaining strong credit quality and minimizing risk to the bank and its shareholders.
· Analyze borrowers’ financial statements, credit histories, and collateral to determine creditworthiness; recommend or approve commercial loan requests within lending authority.
· Utilize external programs and resources to mitigate risk and ensure solutions align with the customer’s best interests.
· Identify and initiate cross-selling opportunities by reviewing clients’ full banking relationships and collaborating with internal partners.
· Maintain consistent and meaningful contact with customers through regular meetings and ongoing communication.
· Monitor and resolve past dues, overdrafts, insurance exceptions, and financial covenant exceptions in a timely manner.
· Own credit quality for assigned relationships, including financial analysis, covenant monitoring, and risk grading in accordance with bank policy.
· Remain active in the community and local organizations to strengthen the Bank’s presence and reputation.
· Demonstrate the ability to grow loan and deposit relationships while maintaining strong asset quality and customer satisfaction.
SCOPE:
This position will report to the Chief Lending Officer
Education & Experience
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
· Associate’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field required (Bachelor’s degree preferred); and/or
· Five or more years of experience in commercial lending, underwriting, banking, sales, or a related field.
· Strong understanding of commercial loan documentation, regulations, and credit principles.
· A relationship-driven mindset with a proven ability to build and maintain customer relationships.
· Results-oriented approach with a commitment to quality, accuracy, and sound judgment.
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
· Ability to work independently while collaborating with internal partners.
· Professional, positive representation of the bank in all interactions.
