Position Summary
SUMMARY:
We are seeking an experienced BSA/AML Officer to lead and enhance our Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance program. The ideal candidate will have prior experience serving as a BSA/AML Officer within a bank, with deep knowledge of designing and maintaining a robust compliance framework. Familiarity with BSA/AML requirements specific to mortgage originations is strongly preferred. This is a key leadership role for a fast-growing, mid-sized bank, offering the opportunity to build and scale the program in line with regulatory expectations and business growth.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead the design, implementation, and ongoing management of the bank’s BSA/AML/OFAC compliance program, ensuring it meets all regulatory requirements.
• Conduct and maintain enterprise-wide BSA/AML and OFAC risk assessments.
• Ensure policies, procedures, and internal controls are up-to-date, compliant, and effectively implemented across business lines.
• Manage the transaction monitoring, customer due diligence (CDD/EDD), and suspicious activity reporting (SAR) processes to ensure compliance and mitigate risks.
• Maintain strong partnerships with mortgage origination teams to ensure alignment with BSA/AML regulatory requirements.
• Stay current on regulatory changes and industry best practices and ensure timely updates to the BSA/AML framework.
• Lead preparation for regulatory exams, internal audits, and respond to inquiries and findings.
• Deliver BSA/AML training and awareness across the organization.
• Manage and mentor BSA/AML team members as applicable.
• Provide periodic reports and risk updates to senior management and the Board.
Education & Experience
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
• Minimum of 7–10 years of experience in BSA/AML compliance within a bank or financial services institution, with a proven track record of success.
• Prior experience serving as a BSA/AML Officer strongly preferred.
• Demonstrated experience creating and maintaining BSA/AML programs, policies, and risk assessments.
• Strong understanding of regulatory requirements applicable to mortgage origination and lending activities.
• Bachelor’s degree required
• Advanced degree or certifications (e.g., CAMS) preferred.
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally with business, legal, and regulatory stakeholders.
