Position Summary

This position supports the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Department by performing or leading assignments to effectively integrate the ERM Program into the activities and operations of the Company. Responsibilities include facilitation of periodic risk and control assessments; data analysis; maintenance of the Bank’s Integrated Risk Management (IRM) software system; and ongoing interaction with line of business management to support the ERM Program.

Responsibilities

  • Acquire and maintain an appropriate level of knowledge as to risk factors affecting financial institutions as well as the organization’s products and related operations. Maintain a working knowledge of state and federal legislation, regulations, and rules. 
  • Maintain strong partnerships with line of business personnel including but not limited to communication of pertinent information, education on risk management responsibilities and practices, and timely responses to inquiries for assistance.
  • Monitor, analyze and report on changes to process-level risk and control content across the organization. Coordinate communication with business partners to update content as necessary.  Perform periodic data quality and data integrity reviews.
  • Manage completion of scheduled and ad hoc risk assessments and evaluate results for completeness and accuracy.
  • Assist in the development, coordination and completion of periodic risk and control assessments. Analyze results bringing timely and useful insight and analytical support to identify and mitigate emerging risks.
  • Assist in the development and delivery of ERM training for line of business personnel.
  • Assist the preparation of reports and other written materials as well as presenting to Executive Management and/or Risk Management Committees as needed.
  • Participate in committees and other cross functional working groups as needed.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of the Bank’s Integrated Risk Management (IRM) software system to ensure standards are met.
  • Assist in the maintenance and coordination of the Bank’s Corporate Model Management Program to ensure standards are met.
  • Ensure key ERM procedures are documented and updated as needed.
  • Participate in external exams and internal audits as needed.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned to meet business and organizational goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.  Accounting or Finance preferred.
  • 5 years of related experience in financial institution field or related area (risk management, audit, compliance)
  • Ability to work independently and effectively with limited supervision in a continually changing environment
  • Strong organizational skills and keen ability to multi-task
  • Ability to develop strong relationships and work with all organizational levels
  • Effectively facilitate and document meetings within ERM and with and peer business partners
  • Able to exhibit independent judgement and resolve conflicts with limited assistance
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid business acumen, management, and problem-solving skills.  Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Strong technical and data relationship skills.  Completes independent and thorough analysis in completing assignments and deliverables.
